A tournament is paper trading on the terminal’s live prices. The money in a tournament is virtual: all participants start with the same capital, positions open at real market prices, and the result is counted the same way as on an exchange. Entry is free or costs EVTM Coin — the terminal’s game coin; you can never enter for money. EVTM Coin is not sold, cannot be withdrawn and is not exchanged for money.
The “Tournaments” tab is in the left rail: the tournament rules, the table, your positions and the order form. You can take part with a subscription or a trial; who the tournament is for, the entry fee, the coins and the maximum leverage are written in its rules.
A market order fills at once at the current price. A limit order waits for its level: for a long — below the current price, for a short — above it. It fills only when the price has really reached the level — by the high or low of trades in each second — and always at the limit price. If you place or move a limit order beyond the current price (for a long — not below it, for a short — not above it), it fills at once, as on an exchange: at the current price but no worse than its level, with the market order fee. The current tournament price is shown in the order form and in the limit order’s label on the chart. The margin and fee for a limit order are set aside from free funds at once; cancelling returns them. Unfilled limit orders — at most 5; open positions and limit orders together — also at most 5, one per coin.
Margin is isolated: each position has its own. The margin of one position together with add-ons is at most half of your capital.
A market order, an add-on, a partial close, a close, a stop and a limit order filled at once — 0.06 % of the size. A limit order to open and a take-profit — 0.02 %. A fee is charged on every fill.
A position can have up to 4 take-profits and up to 4 stops, each with its own share: take-profit shares add up to at most 100 %, stop shares — too. You can set them right when opening or when placing a limit order (they start working after it fills) and add them later.
The share is fixed in coins when the order is placed: a 50 % take-profit on a 0.1 BTC position is an order for 0.05 BTC. After an add-on the order keeps the same coins, and its share of the position gets smaller; after a partial close the order will close no more than what is left. The chart line and the position card say exactly that — “TP · 0.05 BTC (25 %) · +$…”: the order’s coins and its share of the position now. The free share for new take-profits and stops is counted by the shares set when placing.
A take-profit fills at its own price when trades reach it. A stop triggers when trades reach its level and fills at market. If several levels were touched within one second, the order is: the limit order first, then the stop, then the take-profit.
Limit orders, take-profits and stops are shown as lines on the coin’s chart. Grab a line with the mouse (on a phone — with your finger) and move it: while you drag, the new price and the expected result are shown; let go — the level moves with one request. If the server refuses, the line goes back and the reason is shown. The cross on the line cancels the order. The chart also shows the fills of an open position: entry and exit as arrows, add-ons and partial closes as small marks; hover to see the coins, price and time. Fills of closed trades are turned on with “Show my closed tournament trades” in “Tournament ▸” or in “Layers”. Right-clicking the chart (on a phone — a long press) opens “Tournament ▸”: market, a limit, take-profit or stop at the clicked price, add-on, partial close, close.
When the price reaches a position’s liquidation price, the position is closed and its margin is lost — only the margin of that position, not your whole capital. The liquidation price is shown on the chart as a dashed line and in the position card. A stop beyond the liquidation price will not have time to trigger — the terminal warns you about it.
A trade is a position from opening to full close. A place in the table goes to participants with at least 5 trades (a tournament may set its own number — it is in its rules). Trades count only if they last at least 1 minute: a shorter one goes into profit or loss but does not count towards the number of trades.
For the last 30 minutes (in a tournament shorter than a day — the last 5 % of its length) you cannot open or add to positions, and you cannot join either; unfilled limit orders to open are cancelled and what was set aside for them is returned. Stops and take-profits work to the end. At the end, open positions are closed at market.
Every day at about 05:00–05:05 Moscow time (and during terminal updates) there is a short technical break. During the break orders are not accepted, and limit orders, stops and take-profits do not fill. If the price reached an order's level only during the break, that touch does not count: the order stays and fills at the next touch after the break. Liquidation is checked right after the break at the current price.
There are two rankings. By profit — the return on the starting capital. By quality — the return divided by the largest drawdown during the tournament: whoever earned more smoothly ranks higher; participants without profit rank lower in it, by return.
The overall standings are points for places in both rankings of all tournaments (100 for first place, 70 for second, 50 for third and decreasing further), added up.
Prizes are EVTM Coin, items for the office and days of subscription; some prizes are handed over by the owner. Prizes are given after the owner approves the results. By default every participant can get a prize. If the tournament rules set conditions — an account at least N days old at the start, or signing up at least N hours before the start — a participant who does not meet them still takes part and keeps their place in the table, and the prize for that place goes to the next participant in the same ranking who meets them. If you are on a trial or your wallet is frozen (the subscription has ended), an EVTM Coin or item prize waits until you pay for a subscription and is given after that.
In the table you are shown as “Participant #N”; your nickname is shown only if you agreed to it.
A tournament is a game with virtual money: its result does not promise the same on an exchange.
